What is an RPZ Valve?
An RPZ (Reduced Pressure Zone) valve is designed for use in commercial and industrial applications to avoid back syphonage and pollution of the potable water distribution system. ICE Plumbing and Water Services Limited specialise in the nationwide supply and installation of RPZ valves and are WRAS approved RPZ valve testers.
Backflow, causing cross-contamination between potable and non-potable water supplies, can constitute a serious public health hazard. RPZ valves provide protection against this hazard.
RPZ valves consist of two independent check valves, plumbed in series, with a pressure monitored chamber between them, forming a Reduced Pressure Zone (RPZ). They act as a backflow preventer and provide mains water protection to category 4 fluid contamination risk situations.
Why use RPZ Valve Testers?
To meet water regulations, RPZ valves are subject to an annual test by the local water authority which can only be carried out by accredited RPZ valve testers. As WRAS approved RPZ testers, ICE Plumbing and Water Services Limited can plan and carry out all your RPZ testing, and also liaise with your local water authority on your behalf.
If your premises has an RPZ valve installed, it is a legal requirement that this be checked by authorised RPZ valve testers. RPZ valves are subject to a compulsory annual test by the local water authority which can only be carried out by WRAS accredited RPZ valve testers.
We are Yorkshire Water, Severn Trent Water and Thames Water approved suppliers as well as a WaterSafe Approved Business with WIAPS Approved Plumbers.
