The Water Supply (Water Fittings) Regulations 1999 set out national requirements for the design, materials, installation and maintenance of plumbing systems, water fittings and water-using appliances. They are designed to protect your drinking water supply from contamination, and prevent inefficient use of water. The regulations apply to all types of premises in England and Wales with plumbing systems, water fittings and equipment. ICE provide water regulation services and recification works to ensure your business meets these regulations.
As a business, it is your legal duty to ensure your systems satisfy these requirements.
Your water company is responsible to the Government for the enforcement of the regulations and have the right to visit your premises and carry out checks to ensure your water fittings comply.
The ICE Water Regulations team ensure your systems are compliant and identify and deliver remedial action in advance of the formal water company audit. Being prepared and complaint can save you costs and avoid other risks associated with non-compliant water systems.
We can carry out all rectification works to ensure compliance where we identify issues during the compliance audit or where the water company has instructed changes.
The testing of RPZ valves is a specialist area included in the Regulations. If you have one we can carry out the annual testing and certification to ensure continued compliance.
